Accessibility of this website
A disability services website that is hard to use is a contradiction. This page sets out what we have done, what standard we are aiming at, and what is still not good enough.
The standard we target
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessible web content is also a requirement under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
What we have built in
- Keyboard access. Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator and a “skip to main content” link.
- Colour contrast. Text and interface colours were checked against the WCAG contrast formula. Our brand cyan is deliberately never used for text on white, because it does not pass — a darker teal is used instead.
- Screen readers. Semantic HTML headings, landmarks and lists; descriptive alternative text on images; form fields with real labels and error messages linked to the field they belong to.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and smooth scrolling are switched off.
- Zoom and resizing. The layout reflows down to a 320px screen and up to 200% text zoom without content being cut off or requiring sideways scrolling.
- Touch targets. Buttons, form fields, menu items and service cards are at least 44 pixels tall. Links inside sentences and inside lists such as the footer are smaller than that — WCAG allows this for inline and list links, and they still clear the 24 pixel minimum — so if you find one hard to tap, please tell us.
- Plain language. We avoid NDIS jargon where we can, and explain it where we cannot.
Known limitations
- We have not yet published Easy Read versions of our service information. If you would like information in Easy Read, call us and we will provide it directly.
- This site has been tested with automated tooling and manual keyboard review. It has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility assessor, or tested with a broad range of assistive technologies.
- Some of our downloadable documents may not yet be fully accessible. Ask us and we will provide the content in another format.
If you need information another way
We can provide our information in Easy Read, large print, or by talking it through with you. We can also arrange an interpreter, including Auslan. Just ask — there is no cost and no form to fill in.

Tell us when something does not work
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know — it is a bug, not your problem. Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, and what you were using, and we will fix it and confirm back to you.
